A 4-month old pit bull puppy is recovering after its owner dragged it by a chain with their truck through Downtown Sacramento over the weekend.
Chako Pit Bull Rescue and Advocacy took the dog under their care and says they’ve reported the incident to Animal Control.
This four month old pup was chained in the back of a pick up truck (by the chain you see in the photo). He fell out and ended up caught under the truck. Good Samaritans rescued him. His rear left leg has some slight inflammation and a minor gash, but other than that, he came through with flying colors. He’s now with Chako, and we’ve reported the incident to the City of Sacramento.
People who saw the truck followed it and recused the animal. Witnesses said that the driver fled the scene afterwards.
