Well, how about that for a change? Sacramento just finished in the top five of a nation-wide survey, and it’s for something we can all be proud of for a change.
According to Clean Edge, Sacramento is the 4th best metro region in regards to clean technology activities. The outfit uses dozens of indicators in four primary categories, green buildings; advanced transportation; clean electricity & carbon management; and clean-tech investment, innovation, & workforce, to come to its finding.
From their report:
One of only two metro areas to rank in the top ten in all four Metro Index categories (along with San Francisco), the state capital of California’s clean-energy behemoth comes in fourth with a score of 59.4. The region ranks first among major metro areas in clean economy job concentration, has emerged as an early hub for EVs, and maintains an exceedingly efficient building stock, particularly those qualifying for Energy Star certification.
San Jose, San Francisco, and Portland, Oregon, came out ahead of Sacramento on the list.
