Highway 80 between West Sacramento and Davis was closed Friday morning as police searched for an armed robbery suspect who fired shots at unsuspecting store employees who caught him in the act as they were preparing to open for business. The suspect is believed to have then carjacked a nearby woman before leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase on the causeway.
The suspect crashed the stolen car on Enterprise in Davis, but somehow avoided capture causing the police to close the freeway while they conduct a extensive search.
The morning traffic commute has become a massive problem as a result.
