Check out this video produced by the City of Sacramento, starring the current council and Mayor Johnson. Each representative gets a quick shot to share what they love about Sacramento.
Vice Mayor and District 1 councilwoman Angelique Ashby loves “the possibilities” from a balcony overlooking the Capitol dome. Is that a hint about her rumored 2014 Assembly run?
District 2 councilwoman Sandy Sheedy proclaims to love “the diversity” while shopping at a neighborhood farmer market.
Steve Cohn from District 3 loves “Midtown on a Second Saturday”, and looks right in place while wearing a three-piece-suit, too.
Robert King Fong from District 4 enthusiastically shares that he loves “the arts!” from besides the newly finished Crocker expansion.
Councilmember Jay Scheinrer from District 5 loves “our young people”, and even managed to find a half-dozen of them in a computer lab to prove it.
Kevin McCarty sits on a bench in the Elmhurst neighborhood which he represents in District 6, and shares that he loves “our tree-lined neighborhoods.”
Darrell Fong seems to be the only councilmember who elected not to be filmed within his own District, instead opting to be filmed saying that he loves “coming home” at the Sacramento International Airport. The airport is in the county; Fong represents District 7 in the Pocket.
Bonnie Pannell, councilwoman for district 8, says that she loves “the parks.”
To top it all off, the Mayor states that he loves Sacramento because “it’s my hometown.” How he failed to get the phrase “world-class” in there is anybody’s guess.
If you think you could do better, the city wants your input. Create a video with a two or three word response (Hey! Cohn got five words! No fair!) and upload it to YouTube. Then, send an email with a link to the video to CityExpress@cityofsacramento.org. The best answers will be used for a follow-up video to be published later.

Here’s a picture of the Elmhurst neighborhood from the mid-50′s. U Street just west of 45th. Camera view is northeast. Lined by trees (in winter) that were much smaller then!
Why does it need to be a video post? That seems so unecessary.
