A Citrus Heights resident escaped injury when a van plowed through his house last night.

Police say that around 8 o’clock last night a light-colored, possibly silver van smashed into the front of a house on the 7000 block of Sandalwood drive.  Only the homeowner’s grandson was inside at the time.  Luckily for him, he was in the back of the house when the van hit.

The young man, Andrew Wireman, was only able to get a fleeting glance of the van as it backed out of the living room and then drove off.  

“It was kind of nuts.” Wireman was quoted as saying.

Citrus Heights Police are asking residents to be on the lookout for a van with obvious front-end damage.
