Sacramento IKEA to go solar

The large blue IKEA store in West Sacramento will make the switch to mostly solar power starting next Tuesday.  Store managers had planned on having the new solar array online last week, but there were a few pieces missing out of the box when they opened it and they had to go back to the store.

Then when they had all the parts laid out they realized they needed someone to hold the other end of the big piece because there was no way they could do that by themselves.

“I mean, really?” one unnamed store manager was overheard saying. “How do they expect me to do that?  I’d need three hands! It’s not possible!”

Adding to the frustration was the lack of any words in the solar panel kit instructions.  There was a diagram showing a naked white man looking frustrated and making a phone call, but that just seemed to entice the installation crew into trying to do it without any help.  The crew ended up putting the panels on backwards and had to do it all over again.

IKEA wouldn’t say how much the solar panels cost, but did say it was a good bargain and that if they have to buy new ones in a few years it’s no big deal because it was so cheap anyways.
